On the fourth Thursday of November, people in the United States celebrate Thanksgiving, a national holiday honoring the early settlers and Native Americans who came together to have a historic harvest feast. Today, people celebrate Thanksgiving with their family
and friends by cooking a large meal. Sometimes, people (including my family) participate in races called
Turkey Trots.
Today, the holiday is a special time for family and friends to meet around the table to discuss and
remember all they are thankful for!
The week of Thanksgiving, I gave a presentation to my classes about this American holiday! We discussed history
and talked about what we are thankful for.
Then, we watched a video about how the Macy's Thanksgiving parade balloons are made and colored
fun Thanksgiving worksheets.
We also talked about traditional thanksgiving foods, and discussed whether we would like to try them.
The kids were really surprised by the sweet potato casserole! Which has marshmallow as a topping!
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, and it was so fun to share that with the students at Mosaico!
